Memorial Ride - April 22, 2007

This is what was in the Dallas New Era we had printed Feb 22, 2007.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Ricky has been a dear friend of mine for many years.  On Tuesday morning, February 13, 2007, I woke up with him on my heart and mind, and I felt a very strong need to write something for him.  I prayed for God to give me the words, but they didn't come.  I then prayed and asked God for Ricky to tell me what he wanted to say.  When I began writing, the words came quickly and easily, and I actually felt Ricky's presence, as if he were standing there telling me, "I'll tell you what to say and you put it into words for me."  I may have written the words, but Ricky gave them to me.

To all of my fellow riders and friends

I know you are sad today
I've been where you are, grieving a fallen one
But before I go, I have some things to say.

Let your family know how much they mean
Love them with all of your heart
So they can carry it with them
All the days you may have to be apart.

Live your life to its fullest
And never let a day go by
That you don't appreciate your blessings
I know that I did mine.

Be careful when you're riding
We know the dangers are there
Never let your guard down
Always be aware.

Remember me with laughter, not tears
And promise me this you'll do
Don't stop riding because of me
Because I'll be riding along with you.

"Rev Um Up!"
